I didn't come from the trades. I was a musician first, and I came to construction to provide for my family — then spent 20 years owning and operating a concrete polishing and epoxy company with my good friend. The business taught me where the real pain in contracting lives: not in the skilled trade itself, but in everything around it.

The estimates that have to get out. The invoices that slip. The data entry that eats nights and weekends. The jobs that fall through the cracks between the calendar and the books. The chasing, the reconciling, the wondering if anything got missed.

So I built the system I wish I'd had.

Today that system runs a well-established concrete construction company here in Northern Michigan. This fall I'm bringing it to contractors across the trades — the office work is the same whether you're pouring concrete, framing a house, or wiring a building. The skill is in the field. The friction is in the back office. That's the problem we solve.

I'm 50, married 25 years, with three sons. We recently moved back to where my wife grew up. This stretch of life has made me think hard about legacy — what I build, how I build it, and who it serves. That's the thread through all of it: build things that last, and help other people building things last too.
